Magnolia Evans Mutual Insurance Company has a rich history of meeting the insurance needs of individuals residing in surrounding counties. The Company was founded in 1872 in Magnolia Township, Putnam County, Illinois by farmers and homeowners to insure against catastrophic losses. The Mutual was organized with Articles of Incorporation in 1874 with the name Magnolia Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company.
The Company's name was changed to Magnolia Farmers County Mutual Fire Insurance Company before being changed in 1988 to Magnolia Mutual Insurance Company. The current name of Magnolia Evans Mutual Insurance Company was adopted in 2003 as a result of Evans Mutual Insurance Company merging with and into Magnolia Mutual Insurance Company.
